In her role as PCC she was responsible for mentoring staff while caring for patients with complex cardiac and multisystem organ failure requiring transplantation and coronary revascularization.  Maureen also worked for 3 years as a House Supervisor within University Health System, coordinating patient care, facilitating transfers from outside facilities while resolving issues collaboratively with hospital administration.

Her experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras provided an opportunity to gain fluency in Spanish and develop a deeper understanding of the cultural barriers that immigrants from Central and South America face here in the United States.

She enjoys traveling, being physically active and spending time with her five children and more recently a grandmother. She is a longtime runner and devoted to fitness.
