COVID-19 Impact to our training programs:<\/strong><\/p>\n

As evidenced by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, our specialty plays a critical role in addressing the impacts of COVID-19 on Cardiovascular Disease, as well as the ongoing care & treatment of our pre-existing Cardiovascular Disease patients.<\/p>\n

Dr. Anand Prasad, Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program Director, Professor of Medicine, and Director of the Catheterization Lab at University Hospital, discusses the Impact of Coronavirus on Heart Disease in this segment of Wear the Gown, sponsored by University Hospital:<\/p>\n

\"COVID-19<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]The COVID-19 pandemic has not had a significant impact on the training experiences of our Fellows, in terms of procedure numbers and case counts. Our Fellows remain on a positive trajectory for Board exam eligibility. To remain in accordance with the current social distancing guidelines, Fellowship didactic lectures have transitioned to a virtual format via Microsoft Teams. When necessary, we are still able to hold device demonstrations, Echo\/Swan workshops, heart dissections, and other laboratory-style conferences in-person.<\/p>\n
