Aging Brain Research Group

The Aging Brain Research Group was founded in 2017 and is directed by Dr. Bess Frost. The 14 core basic science and clinical faculty members of this working group represent four institutional departments, the Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Research, and the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Disorders. Monthly meetings allow faculty to present ideas for collaborations and new projects, get feedback on grant proposals, and work to translate basic science into therapy. These interactions have led to several federally- and privately-funded grants as well as two clinical trials. Trainees attend to develop professional networking skills and opportunities, and to encourage grant and fellowship submissions from our students and postdoctoral fellows.
