Lilibett Bump, LP, CCP
Mrs. Lilibett Bump was born and raised in Tucson, AZ. Her passion for children and infants began with her volunteer efforts with Casa de los Ninos, a community outreach facility for at-risk children and families during high school. She received her Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Arizona. Her postgraduate career was as a lead habilitation therapist for autistic children, which she practiced for almost a decade.
In 2010 she began her education in cardiovascular perfusion. As a perfusion student she interned at Stanford University Medical Center in Stanford, CA, completed a fellowship in Pediatric Perfusion at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, CA, and a fellowship in Mechanical Assist Devices at The Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was selected from her class to present on Lactate Levels on Cardiopulmonary Bypass at The California Perfusion Society Conference in Lake Tahoe, CA.
In May 2012 she was awarded her master’s degree with honors in Cardiovascular Perfusion Sciences with a Certificate in Mechanical Assist Devices from Midwestern University in Phoenix, AZ. Immediately thereafter she joined a large team covering Austin, TX and its surrounding areas. In addition to providing cardiopulmonary bypass services, she developed written prevention and treatment protocols and managed the Ventricular Assist Device program. She began practicing pediatric perfusion in January 2017.
She is currently employed at UT Health San Antonio and practices her craft at University Hospital. Her practice focuses on pediatric perfusion; however, she is very involved in adult perfusion practice, which includes the support of a robust solid organ transplant program.
Mrs. Bump is committed to providing the best pediatric care, devoting her research to bloodless surgery, blood conservation strategies, and the development of evidence-based protocols. In addition, she is a clinical preceptor for perfusion students. Mrs. Bump now lives in San Antonio with her husband and daughter. They are grateful to be so close to family.
