Lydia Boyd is the Department Administrator for the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Lydia earned a Bachelors in Science-Accounting degree from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, in 2006. After 10 years of honorable service in the US Air Force, she began her professional business career in 2007, as she continued to support her husband’s military career. A final military assignment to Lackland Air Force Base brought her to San Antonio in 2009, where she started at UT Health San Antonio as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Biochemistry. She then transferred to the Accounting Department of UT Health Physicians (formerly known as UT Medicine) in 2010. In the Accounting Department, she served in various positions progressing from an Accounting Coordinator to Accountant and finally as an Accounting Coordinator Supervisor. During this time, she provided financial, administrative, payroll-related, and human resource support to all UT Health Physicians clinics; as well as participated in numerous working groups, committees, etc. as a Long School of Medicine member. In 2019, she filled the role of Business Administrator in the Department of Neurosurgery.
As an empty-nester, she enjoys time with her husband traveling, cheering for their beloved Philadelphia Eagles, riding motorcycles, and spending time with their sons.
