A Center of Excellence for Children With Heart Problems Opens Its Doors<\/a><\/p>\n

S. Adil Husain, MD, Chief of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at UT Health San Antonio and Pediatric Surgeon-in-Chief at University Hospital, had a vision of a new kind of center for children with heart problems. Dr. Husain\u2019s fragile young patients came from all over Texas, and their parents \u2014 frightened and uncertain about their child\u2019s condition \u2014 would often be uprooted for weeks while their children underwent complex surgery and aftercare.<\/p>\n
