Admission Requirements:

Admission to the graduate program requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or an equivalent degree from another institution.

Applicants are expected to have performed well in upper level science courses. An undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is preferred.

Applicants must have received credit for two years of undergraduate Biology, one year each of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and at least one semester of calculus.

In addition, graduate level courses and extensive research experience are considered favorably.

Individuals applying to the program should have a minimum score of 1100 on the GRE (verbal + quantitative scores).

In some circumstances, applicants who have not met all of these requirements may nonetheless be considered.

To apply online, visit the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences website. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early and submit complete applications with all supporting materials to receive priority review. There is NO application fee.

Applications are reviewed by an Admissions Committee composed of faculty members. Highly qualified applicants are invited for interviews beginning early in the Spring semester.

GRE scores should be sent directly to the Registrar by listing Code No. 6908 on the Educational Testing Service forms. Potential applicants are encouraged to discuss their interests with the Chair of Admissions and with faculty members whose research is in relevant areas.
