	Pavela Bambekova, MD	UT Health San Antonio Internship: UT Health San Antonio	San Antonio, TX	I was born and raised in Bulgaria, and in 2004 my family immigrated to the United States and settled in San Antonio. Since then, San Antonio has been my home, offering tremendous opportunities. I went to Health Careers High School, UTSA (for undergrad), and UT Health San Antonio Long School of Medicine. Being accepted into our dermatology program was a dream that came true. During my free time, I am surrounded by my family - my loving husband (internal medicine resident), our baby daughter Sophia, our parents and siblings, and our two dogs (Spartacus and Lightning). To de-stress, I bake traditional Bulgarian bread or dance Bulgarian dances. Walking, site-seeing, traveling, gardening, photography, and film editing are a passion of mine.	I plan on staying in San Antonio and practicing general and medical dermatology in an academic setting - either at UT or the VA, where I will have the chance to work with residents and medical students while I continue to be a life-long learner. A large part of my success is due to my amazing mentors, and my goal is to provide similar mentorship to those who want to follow in my footsteps.

	Lauren Sadowsky, MD	Rush Medical College of Rush University Medical Center Internship: UT Health San Antonio	Minnetonka, MN	I am an avid traveler and a huge foodie, always trying the new restaurants in town. I also love to cook, am a huge proponent of a good night’s sleep, and enjoy hiking and biking. Furthermore, the day isn't done until I’ve finished the NYT Crossword puzzle.	TBD

	Clark Gravell, MD	University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio	Dripping Springs, TX	I attended Texas A&M University for my undergraduate degree (Gig’em!) and UT Health San Antonio for medical school. My interests include traveling, riding my Peloton, reading, and walking my dog, Bugsy. There is not much I love more than spending time with family and Tex Mex!	TBD
	Madeline Frizzell, MD	Texsa A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine	Dallas, TX	I’m a lifelong Texan but enjoy traveling and exploring new places when I get the chance. My favorite days are spent either hanging out at my grandparent’s lake house in east Texas, or sitting on a patio eating Tex-Mex and catching up with friends.	I’m still exploring the different areas of dermatology, but so far I’m drawn to medical dermatology and dermatopathology.
	McKenna Odom, MD	Baylor College of Medicine	Allen, TX	While I've lived my whole life in Texas, I was also blessed to spend my summers in northern Michigan where I learned to sail, worked as a camp counselor, and gained my first exposure to dermatology. After completing undergrad at UT Austin, I went to medical school at Baylor College of Medicine where I met my husband. We are both completing dermatology residency here in San Antonio. You can find us around the San Antonio area walking our husky Akira, enjoying a good happy hour, wandering through the botanical gardens, or paddle boarding. We also love traveling , especially to national parks, watching sports (hockey, tennis, and F1 racing are our favorites!), and cooking up a good meal.	Clinical dermatology

	Brooke Burgess, MD	Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine	Helotes, Texas	I’m a San Antonio native and grew up as part of an Air Force family, so the heavily veteran-based patient population here is very special to me. After spending time in various cities including Fort Worth for undergrad (TCU), D.C. for graduate school (Georgetown), Dallas during medical school (Texas A&M), and Miami for my internship, I am so grateful to be home for dermatology residency. Outside of medicine I love to spend time with my husband and our family, exercise, watch documentaries, and travel/experience other cultures anytime I get the chance. 	Julie Hancock, MD	University of Cincinnati College of Medicine	Barrington, IL	I’ve lived all over including Nashville, Scotland, Poland, Austin, and Cincinnati but I’ll always consider Chicago my hometown! Here in SA, I love to bike the River Walk trails with my husband, walk our dog Nick throughout Southtown, and meet up for happy hour with friends. We try to visit our families in the Midwest as much as possible, and enjoy trips across the country and world.	TBD
	Katherine Smith, MD	UT Health San Antonio	San Antonio, TX	I was born and raised here in San Antonio! I went to SMU in Dallas for undergrad and moved back home to San Antonio for both medical school and now residency. My significant other is a current Urology resident and we love to spend time with our fur baby Remington, go on hikes and be outdoors and eat a lot of good food throughout San Antonio! I enjoy cooking, happy hours and game nights with my friends and co-residents, and spending time with my twin sister and family. Alumni

Residents are fully supported in their chosen career paths. In the past 5 years, roughly 40% of graduates have pursued academic dermatology, 50% have pursued private practice dermatology and 10% have completed fellowship training.
