Dr. Crystal Manohar is an Associate Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, as well as the Associate Program Director of the Anesthesiology Residency for the Department of Anesthesiology at UT Health San Antonio. Prior to joining the UT Health System, Dr. Manohar was an active-duty Air Force Anesthesiologist who deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan and participated in a humanitarian mission to the Dominican Republic. While stationed at the San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC), she was the Medical Student Director and to the Clinical Base (Intern) Year Program Director for the Department of Anesthesiology with an emphasis on mentoring young female military physicians.

Currently, Dr. Manohar remains committed to academic medicine and continues to have a strong focus on didactics, education, mentorship, and improvement of our residency program. She regularly participates in lectures, discussions, and mock oral exams both in the operating room and intensive care unit. Knowing the importance of and having benefited from excellent mentorship myself, Dr. Manohar revamped the Anesthesiology mentorship programs and currently serves as mentor to two residents and two junior faculty. She is also passionate about promoting women in medicine and started a Women in Anesthesiology social committee to provide venues for women to share common experiences and develop valuable solutions.
