ER Doctor says to get the flu shot, may be hard to distinguish from COVID-19

SAN ANTONIO- Dr. Ralph Riviello, M.D. has been a doctor for 26 years and he is discussing exactly what frontline workers are dealing with when it comes to COVID-19.

Dr. Riviello is the Chair of Emergency Medicine at University Hospital and Professor and Chair of Emergency Medicine UT Health San Antonio.

"I think we have gotten used to all of the precautions we need to take and masking and social distancing. I think people were a little bit scared of the increase that they saw, so I think people are going to keep safe and try to do the things that may have caused the increase Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekend," Dr. Riviello says about the upcoming holiday weekend.

He also says to keep a close eye on safety when it comes to high school football season.

It is also recommended to get your flu shot, but he says it may be hard to tell who has the flu and who has the coronavirus.

In addition, students and faculty should be safe if they continue to do what they are supposed to do as far as being sanitary in schools.
