Emergency Medicine

Our Emergency Department is staffed all day, everyday with physicians, comprehensive laboratory services*, diagnostic and imaging service, and pharmacy support. We provide basic and advanced emergency services including resuscitation and stabilization.

As part of a Level I Trauma Center and teaching institution, the Emergency Department partners with an array of medical services to provide world-class and comprehensive care to its patients.

The 100,000 square foot facility is located on the sub-level of University Hospital. A large, attached ambulance bay provides a direct access to the ED floor while an airlife landing pad on the tower rooftop provides direct access to the ED. This venue provides a well-rounded and well-equipped resource to our faculty, students, residents, and fellows while they provide patient care.

Individuals seeking emergency medical should call 911 and/or refer to visit the UH Emergency Department website
