Our Ultrasound Fellows undertake a rigorous and well-rounded course of study.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;no-indent&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Program Highlights<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Length of Fellowship<\/span>: 12 months<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Number of Sites<\/span>: One<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Number of Positions per year<\/span>: 2<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Additional Opportunities<\/span>: Internal Moonlighting<\/li>\n<li>7 fellowship trained full-time academic faculty members<\/li>\n<li>Access to the $1M state-of-the-art Long School of Medicine Center for Clinical Ultrasound Education with 10 ultrasound units (9 Sonosite M-Turbo\u2019s and 1 Sonosite X-Porte)<\/li>\n<li>A very pro-ultrasound department<\/li>\n<li>A successful EM residency program<\/li>\n<li>An active longitudinal US curriculum for medical students<\/li>\n<li>Access to multiple US machines, including \u2022\u00a0\u00a0 5 Sonosite PX, 2 Mindray TE7\u2019s, 2 Mindray ME8\u2019s, 1 GE Venue Go, multiple different handheld US (GE V-Scan Air, Philips Lumify, Sonosite I-Viz)<\/li>\n<li>A pediatric ED with a dedicated Zonare Z.one Pro US machine<\/li>\n<li>Emergency Department is accredited through ACEP\u2019s Clinical Ultrasound Accreditation Program (CUAP)<\/li>\n<li>Multiple faculty completed the inaugural Focus of Designated Practice (FPD) in Advanced Emergency Ultrasound through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;no-indent&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Duties and Responsibilities include:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Staffing clinical shifts in the Emergency Department (8 shifts\/month)<\/li>\n<li>Presentation of four ultrasound related topics during the Emergency Medicine grand rounds, one of which must be on an advanced bedside ultrasound application<\/li>\n<li>Completion of required independent and supervised scanning sessions<\/li>\n<li>Record at least 1000 adequate bedside ultrasound studies during the fellowship<\/li>\n<li>Completion of all required assigned reading materials<\/li>\n<li>Participation in regularly scheduled image review sessions<\/li>\n<li>Participation in regularly scheduled literature review sessions<\/li>\n<li>Submission of quality research project to the institutional IRB and implementation of research with intent to publish<\/li>\n<li>Participation in all ongoing Division of Ultrasound research activities<\/li>\n<li>Complete one quality improvement project for the Division of Ultrasound<\/li>\n<li>Submit one abstract to a National Conference<\/li>\n<li>Participate as one of the supervising educators for residents and medical students on their ultrasound rotations and electives<\/li>\n<li>Participate in Ultrasound Division administrative meetings<\/li>\n<li>Attend one national meeting during their fellowship year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text]\n            <div class=\"panel no-indent  match-panels\" >\n
