The fellowship provides a hands-on approach to medical student and resident education by working as both an Assistant Clerkship Director and Assistant Program Director.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"bold\">Medical Educator<\/h2>\n<p>TAs a Medical Education Fellow at the University of Texas Health San Antonio you\u2019ll be engaged regular educational sessions with medical students in both classroom and simulation settings, and bedside teaching as an attending physician while on shift. This will be accomplished with support from your Fellowship Director and support from the Department\u2019s research staff.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"close colorized-heading\">Professional Development<\/h3>\n<p>Fellows will be sent to a number of conferences through their training including ACEP, TCEP, SAEM, CORD, the ACEP Teaching Fellowship, EvolvED, and MERC for the purposes of personal development and networking opportunities.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"close colorized-heading\">Administrative Experience<\/h3>\n<p>You will participate in monthly meetings with academic faculty and non-clinical staff of the residency programs, in addition to meetings with administrative staff and leadership of other residency programs.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"close colorized-heading\">Clinical Duties<\/h3>\n<p>Clinical Requirements include 8 shifts per month of practice as an attending with both residents and medical students. There is an option to increase to a maximum 11 shifts per month with the additional three earning moonlighting income. As a fellow you\u2019ll be considered faculty for purposes of employment and will receive faculty vacation and health benefits.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"bold\">Details and Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>The fellowship is a one-year commitment with an option to increase to two years if the learner desires to pursue a Master\u2019s in Education as part of their fellowship.
