Personal Statement:

Dr. Koops is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology at the UT Health San Antonio. She is board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and in Sleep Medicine. She came to the medical school following a distinguished military career that included over twenty years in clinical academic practice training physicians to serve our nation’s armed forces. She see patients with general endocrine disorders and diabetes at the Audie L Murphy Veteran’s Administration Hospital. She also sees patients as part of the academic teaching mission of UT Health San Antonio in the Endocrine teaching clinic at the Texas Diabetes Institute (TDI) which is part of the University Health System (UHS). She is a member of the Endocrine Society (TES), American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE), and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
