Our programs are designed to give students a solid understanding of the principles and philosophy of our specialty. Family Medicine is a primary care specialty that provides the first contact, ongoing and preventive care to patients of all ages. This includes comprehensive, continuous, cost-effective, and relationship-centered care, in the context of family and the community. Our faculty participate in a variety of education programs that begin with the Synthesis Course of the CIRCLE Curriculum for first and second-year students and continue with the Family Medicine Clerkship for third-year students and elective courses for the fourth-year students.
Train a diverse student body to value the importance of Family Medicine in our nation’s healthcare system, appreciate each patient as a person, become adept at providing safe and effective care, and become world-class physician leaders.
Teach and model the principles and value of Family Medicine through excellent educational experiences.
