Overview:

During this presentation Beverly Bernal, PsyD will shed light on how to support cancer survivors within the primary care setting. She will describe how to identify potential late effects cancer survivors may experience.  Additionally, Dr. Bernal will discuss the utility of screening measures and examples of measures to use in clinical practice to assess for potential late effects.  Finally, participants will learn how to recognize when to make appropriate referrals to community providers.

Objectives:

  • Identify late effects patients may experience post cancer treatment.
  • Use of screening measures to assess for potential late effects.
  • Recognize when to refer out to outpatient providers.
