Several factors have been identified as facilitators and\/or barriers to adherence in medication use, behavioral recommendations, and other health-promoting behaviors. Through the use of the Health Belief Model (HBM), primary care providers, behavioral health consultants, and team members can learn strategies to assess for barriers to treatment, increase trust and support within visits, and ultimately personalize treatment for patients.
