Emily Kirkpatrick, PharmD, BCIDP, AAHIVP will discuss the current landscape of HIV infections in the United States, an overview of the FDA-approved medications for PrEP, and a review of the literature supporting use of PrEP for HIV prevention. Participants will discuss how to conduct initial and follow up PrEP visits in the outpatient setting.<\/p>\n<h3>Objectives:<\/h3>\n<p>1. Describe the epidemiology of newly diagnosed HIV infections in the United States.<br \/>\n2. Recall the names, doses, and adverse effects of the antiretroviral FDA-approved for PrEP.<br \/>\n3. Identify high-risk patients who are eligible to receive PrEP.<br \/>\n4.
