Eating Disorder Treatment in Primary Care: Defying the Stereotype<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rachel Walters, Psychology Resident<\/strong><\/p>\n

This lecture will provide an overview of eating concerns common in the primary care setting across the lifespan. This lecture will discuss the eating disorder stereotype and how it has impacted diagnosis and treatment for various populations. Negative outcomes associated with delayed diagnosis of disordered eating and treatment will be reviewed. The lecture will provide guidance to primary care providers and primary care team members on how to improve identification, treatment, and triage of disordered eating in the primary care setting.<\/p>\n

By the end of the presentation, participants should be able to:<\/p>\n
