Personal Statement:

Dr. Juan Echavarria is an academic clinician-educator. He earned his medical degree in his native Colombia and then completed training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology here at UT Health San Antonio. He plays a leadership role in the Gastroenterology Division as GI Fellowship Program Director and Director of GI Education and maintain broad clinical interests with a special focus on the management of complex colon polyps. His clinical activities are focused in University Health System at University Hospital and the Robert B. Green Campus, where his had the opportunity to care for an underserved and predominantly Hispanic population.
