Personal Statement:

Sarah Lapey MD, FACP is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition. Clinical interests include the evaluation/management of all varieties of liver disease including Chronic Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), and cirrhosis. She is most passionate about treating patients with Chronic Hepatitis C with the new direct-acting oral agents offering high cure rates. Additional interests include global health, medical education and medical humanities. Outside of work, hobbies include fitness activities, with a love for all Peloton classes (bike/tread/mat); music, piano performance; spiritual development; nature appreciation and gardening; travel and global health service work. Fluent in Spanish.
