Becky Powers, MD

Dr. Powers is a clinician educator in the South Texas Veterans Health Care System GRECC, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology, and Palliative Medicine.  She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.  Her educational roles include serving as the Subspecialty Education Coordinator for Geriatrics for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, Program Director for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship, Program Director for the GRECC Interprofessional Fellowship, Director of Geriatrics Continuing Education Activities, and as an Associate Editor of Aquifer Geriatrics—the American Geriatrics Society’s official national online curriculum in geriatrics.  She is a coinvestigator in several GRECC and Pepper Center clinical trials.  Her clinical interests include comprehensive geriatric assessment, telehealth, falls, cognitive impairment, and hearing impairment.
