Travel Awards

At least once per year the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics will present highly meritorious Ph.D. students with a travel award to attend a microbiology/immunology/virology conference. Starting in 2017 “matching” travel awards will be presented to students who have applied for and received a travel award to attend and present at a conference.

In order to be considered for a travel award all applications must be complete and meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a UT Health San Antonio graduate student in the Molecular Immunology and Microbiology Discipline.
  • Must be a UT Health San Antonio graduate student in good standing.
  • Must be attending one of the following conferences: American Association of Immunologist (AAI), American Society for Virology (ASV), or the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).

An application will not be considered complete until all portions of the application have been submitted. To apply please submit all of the following documentation to:

  • Cover letter explaining why you want to attend the conference. Please state if you submitted an abstract and/or have received a travel award from the meeting sponsor or from an outside institution/organization.
