The competition offered students an opportunity to practice their science communication skills and increase their confidence while presenting their research.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A special\u00a0congratulations\u00a0to Zaineb Hassouneh (previous MS I&amp;I graduate and current IBMS Student) who advanced to the second round of the competition. Zaineb shares\u00a0&#8220;I initially decided to participate in the 3MT on a whim and had no idea what to expect. Having done it twice now, I think it is a great opportunity to practice public speaking and articulating complicated science research in a digestible manner. I love meeting other graduate students from various institutions and disciplines.
