Studies are focused on clinical samples as well as experimental cell and animal models of CKD Area currently\u00a0being explored include metabolomics, lipidomics and mitochondrial dysfunction, the role of arginase, inflammation, growth factors such as pigment epithelium-derived factor and tumour necrosis factor, gasotransmitters such as nitric oxide and hydrogen sulfide, signaling pathways and oxidative stress. We are also interested in gender differences in susceptibility to kidney injury.
