How do the health effects compare to his twin brother who remains on Earth?<\/p>\n<p>Kumar Sharma, M.D., and Manjula Darshi, Ph.D., from UT Health San Antonio&#8217;s Center for Renal Precision Medicine, together with Brinda Rana, Ph.D., from the University of California, San Diego, led one of the teams of investigators involved in a unique study to answer these questions. The study is examining the effects of a year&#8217;s spaceflight on NASA astronaut Scott Kelly in comparison to his identical twin and fellow astronaut, Mark Kelly, who remained on Earth.<\/p>\n<p>Results of the NASA Twins Study are being published in the prestigious journal\u00a0<i>Science<\/i>\u00a0on April 12.
