We offer fellowship programs in the following areas:

Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry Fellowship

Our Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry division offers both a one year and two year fellowships. The one-year program is designed to train exemplary clinicians with skills applicable to the entire neurological disease spectrum.  The two-year program applicants can choose from leadership, education, or a research track. We extend an earnest invitation to individuals driven by a passion for advancing the frontiers of behavioral neurology to consider joining our distinguished community at the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Disease. Your involvement can play a pivotal role in shaping the future of this dynamic and indispensable field.

Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship

The Department of Neurology received ACGME accreditation with commendation for up to three CNP fellowship positions and have 10 CNP faculty members. The CNP fellowship is flexible based on the educational needs of the applicant.

CNS Endovascular Fellowship

 

Epilepsy Fellowship

This program offers broad epilepsy training at one of the largest level-4 NAEC epilepsy centers in Texas (9 epileptologists, 2 epilepsy-trained neurosurgeons, a state-of-the-art 14-bed epilepsy monitoring unit). Rotations are available at the University Hospital, a level-1 trauma center, the South Texas Veterans Administration Hospital, and the Epilepsy Foundation of Central and South Texas.

Movement Disorders Fellowship

The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program at UT Health San Antonio offers a two-year non-ACGME fellowship training program in adult movement disorders. The first year will focus on primarily clinical skills and the second year will incorporate more time for research. The program is available as a one-year clinical fellowship, though completing a second year is recommended. One fellow will be selected each year.

Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Fellowship

The UT Health San Antonio clinical fellowship focuses on multiple sclerosis and other CNS inflammatory conditions.  The fellowship is designed to acquire the knowledge and confidence to manage a comprehensive multiple sclerosis center upon graduation.  Fellowship candidates will function as licensed and fully privileged attending physicians within the Neurology Department and will be held to the same standards for patient care as all faculty members.

Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship is within the Department of Neurology and the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases at the University of Texas Health Science Center (DBA UT Health San Antonio).

This is a two-year, APPCN-member fellowship designed to provide hands-on training in clinical neuropsychology for independent practice while also allowing successful trainees to obtain board certification in clinical neuropsychology.

Vascular Neurology Fellowship

We offer one VN fellowship position and have VN faculty from several backgrounds, including Stroke, Neuro-critical Care, Interventional Neuroradiology, Vascular Neurology, and Vascular Neurosurgery.
