San Antonio, UT San Antonio clinical fellowship focuses on multiple sclerosis and other CNS inflammatory conditions.&nbsp; The fellowship is designed to acquire the knowledge and confidence to manage a comprehensive multiple sclerosis center upon graduation. &nbsp;Fellowship candidates will function as licensed and fully privileged attending physicians within the Neurology Department and will be held to the same standards for patient care as all faculty members.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Highlights:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Faculty status: &nbsp;Faculty Development Position<\/li>\n<li>Program length: &nbsp;12 months<\/li>\n<li>Fellowship salaries are funded by the clinical productivity and clinical billing for the neuroimmunology fellow during their required scheduled clinical activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Goals\/Objectives &#8211;<\/strong> Fellows will develop expertise in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A comprehensive knowledge base encompassing basic science and clinical aspects of MS, NMOSD, neurosarcoidosis, autoimmune encephalitis, and neurological manifestations of rheumatologic conditions<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with principles of the comprehensive management of persons with MS and other neuro-immunological conditions<\/li>\n<li>To be a resource for information about current research directions and clinical trials in MS, including the education of patients, colleagues, and other trainees at multiple levels in various disciplines<\/li>\n<li>To become familiar with and participate in clinical research, including clinical trials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Faculty:<\/strong><br \/>\nTania Reyna, MD<br \/>\nLyndsey Hale, MD<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curriculum\/Program Format &#8211;<\/strong> The core rotation for the fellow will be divided into 10 blocks of 4 hours every week, most of them at the MARC clinic staffed by specialized faculty. &nbsp;The training blocks will be allocated as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Six continuity MARC clinic blocks.&nbsp; In addition, there are 1-2 blocks a month for a subspecialty clinic at the University Hospital with a neuroimmunology faculty.&nbsp; This offers the opportunity for the fellow to precept neurology residents at their continuity clinic and interact with Medicaid and the underserved population.<\/li>\n<li>One block for procedures to include botulinum toxin injections and baclofen pump management.<\/li>\n<li>One block for elective rotation.<\/li>\n<li>One block for self-study and research development.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">The fellow will see autoimmune disorder inpatient consults at University Hospital when requested by the inpatient neurology team for management of complex autoimmune disorders.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Didactics \u2013 autoimmune conference once a month, journal club once a month<\/li>\n<li>Teaching opportunities: &nbsp;medical students, residents, physician assistants and nurse practitioner students<\/li>\n<li>Research \u2013 dedicated team<\/li>\n<li>Neurosciences Grand Rounds: &nbsp;a multidisciplinary weekly meeting with both case and didactic sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Graduates:<\/strong> &nbsp;N\/A<\/p>\n<p><strong>Support Services:<\/strong>&nbsp; MRI (1.5, 3T), physical\/occupational\/speech therapy, laboratory,
