\nAmerican Academy of Neurology (AAN) junior membership (Department Sponsored)<\/p>\n

Meetings<\/strong>
\nPGY-IV Residents – AAN meeting expenses (reimbursed up to the balance remaining in account)
\nPGY-I-III Residents – All meeting requests must be pre-approved by the Department Chair and Program Director. Reimbursements of meeting expenses are at the discretion of your faculty mentor or at your own expense.<\/p>\n

Medical Book\/Electronic Device Allowance<\/strong>
\nResident receives $1000 at the start of each academic year of residency to utilize for continuing medical education expenses, e.g. medical books, ophthalmoscopes, other association memberships, registrations, travel expenses for annual AAN Meeting as a PGY 4, etc. \u00a0At the end of each year, the remaining balance rolls over for the next year.<\/p>\n

Meals, Parking, and Uniforms<\/strong>
\n– Monthly meal stipend for scheduled short call and overnight call
\n-Meals provided at most conferences
\n-Free parking at UHS
\n-Embroidered white lab coats and scrubs are provided at no cost to incoming residents<\/p>\n

Annual Leave<\/strong>
\nPTO<\/strong> – 15 working days paid leave per year; cannot be carried over
\nSick Leave –<\/strong> 10 working days per year for injury or illness; cannot be carried over except as determine by program and UHS Professional Staff Services
\nParental\/Medical\/Caregiver Leave –<\/strong> Each Training Year, Residents participating in an ACGME-Accredited Residency Program are eligible for six-weeks of paid leave for approved parental, medical or caregiver purposes which prevents the resident from performing his or her job. It will run concurrently with any remaining sick or vacation leave. In addition to six weeks of paid leave, residents are also eligible for one additional week of Paid Time Off and must be used within the same training year and does not carryover.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”panel single-border single-border-top”]<\/p>\n
