Afterward, the group gathered at our anatomy lab to practice the \u201cfree-hand\u201d technique for lumbar pedicle screw placement, meticulous disc space preparation, and expandable TLIF cage insertion. Stations were made available for residents to perform both the minimally invasive (MIS) approach to TLIF as well as the traditional open approach.
