A CT scan indicated that he had a subdural hematoma (a collection of blood outside his brain) and needed to be moved to UHS. Frank\u2019s case was tricky because his heart condition precluded him from being sedated. Thankfully, Dr. Ramesh Grandhi was able to perform a burr hole craniotomy to drain the hematoma using a local anesthetic. Frank\u2019s family described his appearance before and after the surgery as being \u201clike night and day.&#8221; When we asked him about his experience at UHS, Frank spoke highly of his physicians: \u201cI want to thank Dr. Samples and Dr. Tavakoli who were there for me when I needed them the most.
