Cordelia has had Parkinson\u2019s disease for 13 years. Recently, she started to notice that her symptoms were getting worse; she became afraid of falling whenever she stood up or tried to move around.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tremors were getting hard to handle,\u201d Cordelia explained. \u201cI thought I was going to have to retire, which would mean I wouldn\u2019t be able to help my sons pay for college.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cordelia eventually discovered that Alexander M. Papanastassiou, M.D., could help her through surgical intervention. After her operation, everything changed. She was able to continue her work as a teacher without having to worry about falling or feeling self-conscious.<\/span><\/p>\n
