[vc_row][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]Our MFM Fellowship program has three major components: clinical, research, and didactic. The goal of the program is to train well-rounded clinician-scientists that are clinically and surgically competent, familiar with relevant laboratory procedures, and fully understanding of theoretical and technical aspects of research to enable independent study. Emphasis is placed on continuation of an academic career. Clinical, research, and teaching activities are given equal importance and fellows are provided opportunities to achieve their full potential in each area.<\/p>\n

The core fellowship block rotations consist of 18 months of Core Clinical MFM Experiences (includes MFM Clinical \u2013 10 months; Ultrasound \u2013\u00a0 3 months; Genetics\/Genomics x 2 months; Surgical ICU x 1 month; L&D x 2 months),\u00a012 months of research, and 6 months of electives (1 month required NICU) \u2013 See Representative Fellowship Block Diagram Below.<\/p>\n

Various elective blocks are available in fetal echocardiography, diabetes service, perinatal pathology,\u00a0medical\/surgical\/cardiac\u00a0intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care unit, antepartum service, congenital heart program, infectious disease service, HIV\/AIDS service, or research. With fellowship director approval, other elective experiences can be coordinated based on the fellow\u2019s interest and career aspirations.<\/p>\n
