Even for students with prior research experience, identifying a research opportunity or mentor may be a daunting task. The three step guide below will help you get started on identifying student research opportunities. INFLUUENT, also known as SciVal Experts, is a database of researchers here at UT Health San Antonio. Consider using different keywords, looking at researchers in the network, and recent publications when conducting your search.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, you can direct message Department Research Contacts<\/a><\/p>\n

Reminder: Keep it brief and to the point:<\/p>\n

Dear Dr. Smith,\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019m interested in doing research in [insert discipline\/specialty here]. Can I help you with your research in [insert topic here]? I have 5 extra hours each week this semester I can dedicate to your work.
