Former TOA President Achie Whittemore, MD of Austin Passed Away
We are sorry to pass along news that Archie Whittemore, MD of Austin passed away yesterday on May 17.
Dr. Whittemore retired from Texas Orthopedics, Sports & Rehabilitation Associates in Austin on December 31, 2014 after serving patients in Central Texas for nearly three decades. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and followed with a residency at University Hospital in San Antonio. His first medical position was as a physician for the United States Army from 1972 to 1974.
Dr. Whittemore leaves a tremendous legacy. He served as the TOA president from 2004 to 2005 and served in many other roles, such as treasurer. Dr. Whittemore dedicated countless hours behind the scene to ensure that TOA was a strong organization for many years to come.
