Lee C. Rogers, DPM Appointed Louis T. Bogy, DPM Professor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery

Lee C. Rogers, DPM, Chief of Podiatry and Associate Professor/Clinical in Orthopaedics was appointed as Louis T. Bogy, DPM Professor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the UT Health San Antonio for his distinguished record of professional accomplishments.

The endowment was founded in 1998 to honor Dr. Bogy, a pioneer in podiatry who founded the UT Health San Antonio clinical and residency programs.

Dr. Bogy was instrumental in advancing podiatrists to hold hospital and surgical privileges in Texas and he was successful in the Texas State Legislature’s vote in 1973 to add a DPM degree program to the UT system, which was just realized in 2022 with the UT Rio Grande Valley College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Bogy died in 2004.

The first podiatrist to hold the endowment was Lawrence B. Harkless, DPM.
