Chief of Podiatry Lectures at the Romanian National Congress of Diabetic Neuropathy and Diabetic Foot

Lee C. Rogers, DPM, Chief of Podiatry and Associate Professor/Clinical of Orthopaedics at UT Health San Antonio lectured at the Romanian National Congress of Diabetic Neuropathy and Diabetic Foot on “The Diagnosis and Management of Charcot Foot.”

Dr. Rogers said, “The Charcot foot is a devastating complication of diabetes that will frequently result in amputation if not aggressively managed. It is also commonly misdiagnosed. It is incumbent on all of us to consider Charcot foot in anyone with peripheral neuropathy and a red, hot, swollen foot until proven otherwise.”

Dr. Rogers is an international expert on the Charcot foot and was the lead author on the International Task Force document published in 2011 in the journal Diabetes Care.
