Philip Chen,\u00a0M.D.,FARS<\/a>, is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and\u00a0is\u00a0a Fellow of the American Rhinologic Society. He enjoys all aspects of otolaryngology, but has special interest in disease of the paranasal sinuses.<\/p>\n

Dr. Chen is the senior-most fellowship-trained rhinologist in San Antonio offering care to the civilian community. He completed his residency at the University of Virginia where he trained under esteemed rhinologists Charles Gross, M.D., and Spencer Payne, M.D.\u00a0\u00a0Subsequently, he completed one of the world’s premier advanced endoscopic sinus and anterior skull base surgery fellowships under the direction of Professor Peter-John Wormald.<\/p>\n

Dr. Chen has lectured internationally and authored multiple publications and book chapters.\u00a0\u00a0He serves on multiple local and national committees, mostly pertaining to education of students, residents, and other otolaryngologists.\u00a0 Dr. Chen serves as a peer-reviewer for over ten scientific journals.\u00a0 His research interests include surgical simulation, sinus anatomy, and quality improvement.
\nOutside of work, he enjoys exploring the food in San Antonio and Texas Hill Country, including Texas barbecue.\u00a0 He is also an avid fan of baseball and live music.<\/p>\n

He is honored to be listed on local and national lists of top doctors.<\/p>\n
