Rachelle Speer, SLP-CCC Voice Pathologist<\/h2>\n

\nRachelle Speer received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and graduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Our Lady of the Lake University. Rachelle joined the interdisciplinary team at UT Health Voice Center to intensify her clinical focus in the treatment of voice and swallowing disorders, including head and neck cancer rehabilitation. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech -Language- Hearing Association (ASHA).<\/p>\n

Kristina Cawthon, SLP-CCC Voice Pathologist<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Kristina Cawthon earned her Bachelor of Music from Stetson University and her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida. She completed an additional post-baccalaureate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders through the University of Florida. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).  Ms. Cawthon is a member of the interdisciplinary team at the UT San Antonio Voice Center, where she evaluates and treats patients with voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders. She is committed to a patient-centered approach, developing individualized treatment plans designed to help each patient achieve their specific goals. With a background in musical theater and opera, Ms. Cawthon has a particular interest in the rehabilitation of professional voice users, supporting them in optimizing vocal health and performance.<\/p>\n

Jake P. Morgan, MD<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Jake Patrick Morgan, MD is a fellowship-trained laryngologist who specializes in the medical and surgical care of voice, airway, and swallowing disorders. A native Oklahoman, Dr. Morgan earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Oklahoma before completing his otolaryngology-head and neck surgery training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in laryngology at the University of Southern California Voice Center under the guidance of Dr. Michael Johns III, Dr. Karla O’Dell, and Dr. Bis Shuman.<\/p>\n

In addition to practicing comprehensive laryngology, Dr. Morgan has special clinical interests in airway stenosis, vocal fold paralysis, and professional voice.  What he loves most about his job is working in an interdisciplinary setting, contributing to medical education, and combining expert care with clear communication and patient education.<\/p>\n

Ronit Malka, MD<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Ronit Malka is a laryngologist in the US Air Force, primarily practicing at Brooke Army Medical Center and the Audie Murphy VA. She completed undergraduate studies in bioengineering at Harvard College and received her MD from Harvard Medical School. She completed otolaryngology residency in the Air Force at Brooke Army Medical Center and a fellowship in Laryngology at Johns Hopkins. She treats a variety of voice, swallowing, and airway complaints with both endoscopic and open airway surgeries and in-clinic procedures. Her research is focused on acute laryngeal injury after trauma and inhalational burn, and in the effects of heavy phonotrauma in drill instructors.<\/p>\n

Z. Mike Yang, M.D<\/h2>\n

\nZao Mike Yang, MD is a fellowship-trained laryngologist with clinical and research interests in voice, airway, and swallowing disorders. He is the director of the UT San Antonio Voice Center and the Brian N. Sheth Distinguished Chair for Voice and Airway Disorders. After finishing medical school at Washington University in Saint Louis and residency in otolaryngology at Louisiana State University, he went on to complete fellowship in laryngology with Dr. Gregory Postma at the Medical College of Georgia. He has published numerous manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, textbook chapters, and regularly presents original research at national meetings and conferences.<\/p>\n
