Shadowing and observation opportunities are limited based on the ability to provide a balanced educational experience for the residents, fellows, and official student rotators. Virtual shadowing and observership are not offered.<\/p>\n<h3>Medical Students (UT Health San Antonio \u2013 Long School of Medicine):<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>We offer shadowing for currently enrolled UTHSCSA medical students who are interested in gaining more exposure to pathology before the pursuit of official elective rotations.<\/li>\n<li>Additional information and student activities can be obtained from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/uthscsa.spa\/\">UT Health San Antonio Pathology Student Association<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>UT Health San Antonio or University Hospital Employees:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Employees interested in shadowing or observerships may be considered on a case-by-case basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Undergraduate Students:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Shadowing is rarely granted for undergraduate students. If approved, the student must:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Complete a <a href=\"https:\/\/uthsa.formstack.com\/workflows\/visiting_student_application_copy_1\">visiting student application<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Become a registered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.volgistics.com\/appform\/281761453\">UHS volunteer<\/a> to obtain the appropriate clearance and hospital badge<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>High School Students:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Shadowing opportunities for high school students are extremely limited.
