Dr. Suzanne Woods is the Executive Vice President of the American Board of Pediatrics. Her primary responsibility is for the department of credentialing and initial certification which includes general pediatrics and all subspecialties. She provides oversight for the development of training standards and the tracking and evaluation of residents and fellows. In addition, she oversees the development of the certification process for new subspecialties and serves as the ABP’s liaison to a number of organizations with common interests in graduate medical education and workforce issues. She also serves as a member of the ABP Board of Directors. Dr. Woods joined the ABP in January 2018 after serving as the combined medicine pediatrics program director for 16 years and section chief for Med-Peds at Duke University. She is an adjunct professor in Pediatrics at Duke University and is maintaining certification in general pediatrics and general internal medicine.
