\nTo increase awareness and education for pediatric providers<\/p>\n

Dr. Angela Weyand <\/strong>is an associate professor of pediatric hematology and oncology at the University of Michigan Medical School. She attended Northwestern University for her undergraduate education before heading to the University of Michigan for medical school. She completed her pediatrics residency at Seattle Childrens\/University of Washington before returning to the University of Michigan for her pediatric hematology oncology fellowship. Her clinical interests are in hormone provoked thrombosis, von Willebrand disease, and the care of young women and girls with disorders of hemostasis and thrombosis. She is co-director of a multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to the care of this population. Her research interests are in optimizing the care of young women and girls with disorders of hemostasis and thrombosis, as well as reference ranges and how these contribute to health inequity.<\/p>\n
