\nGenetic Risk Factors and Admixture using Comparative Genomics in Hispanic Children of Different Ancestry with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia<\/p>\n

\nTo increase awareness and education for pediatric providers<\/p>\n

Samuel Pabon-Rivera, MD, FAAP<\/strong>, is currently Assistant Professor in the division of Hematology\/Oncology of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Pabon completed his undergraduate studies in 2011 at University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus, where graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor\u2019s degree in General Biology and Industrial Microbiology. Before applying to medical school, Dr. Pabon spent one year teaching basic science to high school students at An\udbc0\udd9flles Military Academy in Puerto Rico. In 2016 he obtained his medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University. Subsequently, he completed a Pediatric residency at University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences campus obtaining his ini\udbc0\udd9fal cer\udbc0\udd9ffica\udbc0\udd9fon from the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2020. Recently, Dr. Pabon completed his fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at UT Health San Antonio. Dr Pabon-Rivera research interest is focused on gene\udbc0\udd9fc risk factors and admixture in Hispanic children from South Texas and Puerto Rico with B-cell Acute Lymphoblas\udbc0\udd9fc Leukemia.<\/p>\n
