\nPrescribing Balance: Time-Management Strategies for the New Year<\/p>\n

Objectives:<\/strong>
\nTo increase awareness and education for pediatric providers<\/p>\n

Dr. Dina Tom<\/strong> is a native of the Texas Hill Country and the first person in her family to graduate college. After earning her bachelor\u2019s degree from UT Austin, Dr. Tom worked in biopharmaceutical research, publishing forty-one patents of biological intellectual property relating to genetic markers in animal studies. She went on to attend the UT Health San Antonio for medical school, and was awarded the Joe & Teresa Lozano-Long Presidential Scholarship for her dedication to providing medical care to underserved children in South and Central Texas. Dr. Tom completed her pediatric residency at UT Health San Antonio and joined the Division of Inpatient Pediatrics in 2013. Her commitment to education and research led Dr. Tom to complete a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation. She is a regular teaching faculty in the Long School of Medicine and is an Associate Program Director for the Pediatric residency. She is double-boarded in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine, with special interests in migrant health and physician wellness. Dr. Tom enjoys finding balance outside of work with her husband Jeff, a local attorney, and her two young children, Vivian and Eddie.<\/p>\n
