All children, regardless of socioeconomic status, should be society\u2019s highest priority and we are strongly committed to this philosophy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We are the only comprehensive pediatric program in South Texas that is integrated with an outstanding medical school including the basic sciences, a leading academic University Hospital that comprises all the adult specialties, and a world-class library on site. Renowned dental, nursing, and allied health schools are also co-located on our campus in the South Texas Medical Center. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Despite growing up in New York City, San Antonio is my home after 30 years on the faculty. I have trained one-third of the physician faculty during residency or fellowship, so this is my family. The Pediatric Residency Program is the cornerstone, essential not only to our care of the children and families of South Texas but also the main pipeline for our future faculty and community pediatricians.
