Special Seminar: Dr. Long Jun Wu

Dr. Wu’s research primarily focuses on the neuroimmune interaction, particularly the function of microglia, in normal and diseased brain. The long-term vision is to identify and manipulate microglia-specific therapeutic targets that will complement existing strategies for the treatment of brain diseases. In the seminar, Dr. Wu will discuss the molecular mechanisms underlying microglia sensing and regulation of neuronal activities. In addition, he will discuss the microglial function in clinically relevant pathologies such as epilepsy, pain, neurodegeneration and autoimmune diseases.
