{"id":2799,"date":"2021-03-26T11:24:43","date_gmt":"2021-03-26T16:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lsom.uthscsa.edu\/psychiatry\/?page_id=2799"},"modified":"2021-10-25T14:52:04","modified_gmt":"2021-10-25T19:52:04","slug":"how-to-apply","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lsom.uthscsa.edu\/psychiatry\/education\/cap\/how-to-apply\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Apply"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/lsom.uthscsa.edu\/psychiatry\/\">Home<\/a><\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h1>How to Apply<\/h1>\n<p>The UT Health San Antonio Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program application process is as follows:<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Prerequisites (prior to the start date)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Successful completion (or anticipated completion) of the PGY-3 or PGY-4 year in an ACGME accredited Psychiatry program<\/li>\n<li>Successful completion of\/or anticipated completion of STEP 3 (see application requirements below).<\/li>\n<li>12 months of continuous outpatient general psychiatry (12 months FTE; minimum 20% continuous; up to 20% may be CAP )<\/li>\n<li>Successful completion of at least 2 Psychiatry Clinical Skills Evaluations (CSVs) evaluated by an ABPN-certified Psychiatrist during general psychiatry training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications are accepted <strong>July-November<\/strong> and should be submitted using <a href=\"https:\/\/students-residents.aamc.org\/applying-residency\/article\/myeras-application-residency-applicants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ERAS<\/a> (Electronic Residency Application Service). A complete application should include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A complete ERAS application.<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum Vita (CV).<\/li>\n<li>Personal Statement.<\/li>\n<li>Medical School Transcripts.<\/li>\n<li>Dean\u2019s letter.<\/li>\n<li>For Foreign Medical Graduates: ECFMG Certification certificate. Please note that UT Health San Antonio only sponsors J-1 Visas.<\/li>\n<li>USMLE or COMLEX Scores (Including Step III, which must be passed prior to the start date of the Fellowship program).<\/li>\n<li>Three original letters of recommendation; one of the letters must be from your current training director; the remaining two should be from current faculty you are working with. All letters of recommendation must address your clinical knowledge and skills.<\/li>\n<li>The General (Adult) Program Director\u2019s Attestation Form For Child &amp; Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Fellowship Eligibility stating all ACGME requirements will be completed in time for transfer to the Fellowship.<\/li>\n<li>You must be eligible for institutional licensure in the State of Texas<\/li>\n<li>You must also pass a criminal background check.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Training Program participates in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrmp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MATCH<\/a>.
