The personal statement is also required and is listed separately in the application. See information here: <a href=\"https:\/\/lsom.uthscsa.edu\/psychiatry\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2026\/07\/Forensic-Psychiatry-Workflow-Screens.pdf\">Forensic Psychiatry Workflow Screens<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=&#8221;sandy_brown&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]Forensic psychiatry fellowship program directors have also chosen to use the National Residency Match Program (NRMP aka \u201cThe Match\u201d) in the 2026&nbsp;forensic psychiatry fellow selection process for the 2027-2028 Academic Year. The key dates for the 2027-2028 Academic Year Match are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>August 5, 2026 \u2013 Match Registration opens.<\/li>\n<li>September 2, 2026 \u2013 Ranking opens.<\/li>\n<li>September 23, 2026 \u2013 Quota Change and Withdrawal deadline.<\/li>\n<li>October 7, 2026 \u2013 Rank Order List Certification deadline.<\/li>\n<li>October 21, 2026 \u2013 Match Day. Unfilled\/Unmatched Lists available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Forensic psychiatry fellowship program directors have agreed that forensic psychiatry fellowships may not make fellowship offers to applicants outside of The Match, unless the program is attempting to fill an unfilled position after Match Day.
