Biomedical Research Foundation of South Texas, Inc.<\/h2>\n

Dr. Diego Maselli Caceres is chief of the Pulmonary-Critical Care Section at the VA’s South Texas Veterans Health Care System and Assistant Professor\/Clinical at UT Health San Antonio.<\/p>\n

Dr. Antonio Anzueto, Professor of Medicine, plays a major role in the South Texas Biomedical Research Foundation’s clinical research programs. Dr. Anzueto has sought out new research that would be of benefit to his veteran patients. He currently serves as Principal Investigator on numerous clinical research studies being conducted within this VA facility and has others being processed. These sponsored studies, which provide veterans with access to new treatment options, are often for conditions that have limited treatments currently available. Dr. Anzueto and his Pulmonary research group are currently conducting clinical studies that involve treating conditions that range from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, pneumonia, acute respiratory distress\/injury, to septic shock.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Marcos I. Restrepo, the Associate Program Director for the Pulmonary-Critical Care Medicine fellowship training program and the director of the VA-MICU, is a world leader in the area of Community-Acquired Pneumonia (CAP) and is heading multiple NIH funded bench and clinical studies in this topic area. At the Biomedical Research Foundation of South Texas, his ground-breaking Non-Human Primate Model of severe pneumococcal pneumonia is reaching international news and pushing the field to new heights.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Sandra Adams, Professor at UT Health San Antonio and a recognized master educator, is a world leader in COPD education and research, internationally recognized for her non-profit organization ‘The Wipe Diseases Foundation<\/a>‘.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]\n
