Patients with COPD are seen throughout several UT Health San Antonio pulmonary clinics. Our center has been part of the NHLBI funded COPDGene\u00ae project since 2007. The Pulmonary division includes two COPD nationally\/internationally recognized COPD experts, Dr. Antonio Anzueto and Dr. Sandra Adams.\u00a0 Dr. Anzueto has contributed to numerous COPD trials and regularly participates in the annual revision of international Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) recommendations. Dr. Adams leads local and national COPD educational initiatives and is the founder of the WipeDiseases Foundation<\/a> which educates patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals about COPD and asthma to improve patient outcomes and to promote lifelong learning. Patients have access to state-of-the-art treatments including optimal bronchodilators, biological therapy, and invasive interventional procedures.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
